Ather 450S is the most affordable variant among all Ather’s scooters. Ather Energy introduced this vehicle to compete against the Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, Vida V1 and Bajaj Chetak as the 450 and 450X both were on the slightly expensive side.
Ather Energy has managed to reduce the price of this scooter marginally by incorporating some cost-cutting measures. The Ather 450S misses out on some of the unique features like a touch-screen instrument cluster and other pro features but retains all the necessary features like dual disc brakes and other safety features.

The Ather 450S has a progressive monoshock suspension that ensures a comfortable ride even on bumpy and rough roads. It has a low centre of gravity that allows the rider to remain in balance despite taking sharp turns or leaning a little more. The dual disc brakes give better control to the vehicle while accelerating and braking. It has an apt weight distribution ratio of 48:52 (front: rear) making it the perfect combination of distribution and balance.

The scooter comes with a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km, whichever comes earlier. Additionally, the Ather Portable charger has a warranty of 3 years. The portable charger has a 3 m long cord for easy reach. Both the chargers, whether fixed installed or portable, charge from 0 to 80% in about four hours and thirty minutes. The charging status can be easily checked on the Ather app.
Safety
With a safety-first approach, Ather 450X is equipped with an Emergency Stop Signal, usually found in high-end bikes and cars, that activates the blinking of the tail light alerting people during a panic braking situation. The FallSafe feature cuts off the motor’s power supply and stops the scooter from moving further when the rider falls off. Additionally, both indicators start blinking to alert fellow riders on the road. The Ather app keeps an eye on the scooter for you virtually. It has a tow and theft alert notification system, locate your scooter feature, and helps you find Ather grids that offer fast charging near your location. This Ather 450X scooter is incredibly safe thanks to its disc brakes on both wheels, which facilitates quick acceleration along with quick braking. The Ather 450S model comes with several modern features and facilities. I just recently purchased this scooter, and I've had the best riding experience ever. The ride quality is quick and smooth. I felt it is reasonable too. One of the model's distinctive features is the comfy seat, particularly for the rider. The only drawback is that it occasionally seems a little heavy. For the rest, I don't think maintenance is that expensive.

The Ather 450S has a technologically innovative design and also gives good performance at the same time. It fulfills the demands of customers seeking a high-end electric vehicle with quick acceleration, a decent range for city driving, and great looks. Certain things that can be improved are the scooter's higher sticker price, little storage space, lack of comfort while riding for long, and charging availability, which is restricted to a few places. When buying the Ather 450S, a person should look into their preferences, daily commute, and battery charge availability while purchasing.

I purchased Ather 450s pro for family use and I am really happy with the scooter. My family uses it to travel in and around the city, mostly short distances and gives about 80 to 90 km on a single charge. I felt its reasonably priced and very practical. The boot space and leg space are also good considering that all the shopping items can be carried with ease. Being an environmentally friendly person I feel I made a good choice.
